Online B Reflection

I think that technology is important because for some jobs technology is very important for the job, and without it we probably wouldn't be able to do some of the things we do now. In the past 5 years computer technology and cell technology wasn't as great as it is today. Computers weren't as fast, reliable, or as transportable 5 years ago but advancement in technology has changed that, and probably in the next 5 years technology will have made things more smart.

In school we use all kinds of different technology, 1 being the computer, another being phones or calculators. I use a computer for research on a project and for a class on computers and how to use applications. Outside of school I mostly use the computer, my phone, and game consoles. I mostly spend an hour or 2 on my computer, about 4 hours all together using my phone, and another 2 hours playing games.

For life after school I think that I might need to use some information that I have learned in Online Experience B, like the excel information and on Google Docs. to make files for my job. I feel like I might need use excel a lot later on in life, and I think I won't ever need to use Digital Portfolio's after I graduate from school. My favorite tool that we used this year was probably be Digital Storytelling, but I hated doing screen castings.

I think Live is a lot better than Google Docs. Live is easier to manage and works just like Microsoft office. I think Google Docs. is harder to use or function. I think Live and Google Docs. are both great programs but I like Live better.

Today I got to use 2 different types of screencasts, one from screenr and the other from screencast-o-matic. The difference between these 2 is that with screencast-o-matic allows you to make videos longer than in screenr. I thought that screenr was faster to download than screencast-o-matic.

The career that best fit me was Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, this means that I could have a career in Planning, managing, and providing legal, public safety, protective services, and homeland security, including professional and technical support services. Some of the jobs in this career include: a Police Officer, a Lawyer, a Conservation Warden, a Correctional Officer, an Investigator, a Juvenile Detention Worker, a Law Enforcement Officer, a Park Ranger, a Private Security Officer, a Revenue Agent, and a Special Agent. I feel like this career is the best choice for me.

Review So Far

Google Docs. allows you to do things you would be able to do with Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, and Excel but you can do it all for free. Wikis allow you to make bookmarks of websites and/or information under a specific tag. Assistive Technology allows people with disabilities to do things that people without disabilities can do. Electronic Portfolios allows you to put information about yourself online for people to look at if you are looking for a job or if your looking for someone to work for you.

Project Wrap Up Assignment

One thing I liked about Google Docs. is that it allowed you to save some files you want all together in one collection and other docs. in another collection. One thing I didn't like about Google Docs. is that you couldn't copy text to that file or copy text from that file to another file. I did like how I could work on the project the same time my partner was. I don't think Google needs to do anything to Google Docs. I think the project turned out great.

New Technology

The article from the picture of angry birds space, says that Angry Birds Space is not yet available to Windows Phone 7 users, but will soon. The article also says that Rovio launched the game yesterday on Apples iOS, Google Android, Mac, and for PC. The rest of the article talks about how launching Angry Birds Space could be bad for Nokia.
